
2011 Remembrance Day Parade
The 2011 Remembrance Day Parade will mark the 55th anniversary of this continuous and venerable occasion sponsored by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Sons of Veterans Reserve.

| At 8:00 AM:
The activities of the day will start with an SVR breakfast.
This is open to all members of the SVR and their families. Reservations
can be made by contacting Lt. Col. Don Darby at his headquarters. The
cost is $12.00 per person before November 1, 2011, $15.00 after November 1, 2011.
At 9:45 AM:
A briefing will follow at the Eisenhower Inn for all Commanders whose unit will be participating in the annual parade.
At 11:00 AM:
There will be a brief service at the 54th GAR Memorial in Ziegler’s
Grove on the Gettysburg Battlefield by the Allied Orders of the Grand
Army of the Republic to honor their founders and forefathers. All are
invited to attend.
The parade will form at 12:00 PM on Lefever Street and move at 1:00 PM sharp.
The route of the parade will be as follows; Exiting Lefever Street onto
East Confederate Ave. and turning west onto East Middle Street. Upon
striking Baltimore Street the parade will turn south and then veer south
west onto Steinwehr Ave where it will terminate at the National Park.

At 6:00 PM:
The Past Commanders and Past Presidents Association of South Central Pennsylvania will hold their 81st Annual Dedication Day Dinner at the Eisenhower Inn.
This dinner is open to all Brothers and Sisters of the Allied Orders
and their Families. Information concerning the dinner can be found by

At 9:00 PM:
The National Civil War Ball
will commence. All are invited to attend and participate. All proceeds
that are raised by this Ball go directly to monument preservation at the
Gettysburg National Military Park. During the existence of the Ball
there has been over $56,000.00 given to the National Park for monument
restoration and maintenance. Please come out and support this worthy
cause while having a pleasant and enjoyable evening. Information
