To commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Emancipation
Proclamation, DuSable Museum and the First Division Museum at Cantigny Park
presents, A Sight Unlike Any Other: The Civil War and the Colored Soldier.
A Sight Unlike Any Other: The Civil War and the Colored Soldier, is a daylong
family event, highlighted by two skirmish reenactments celebrating the
African American Soldiers who bravely fought for the freedom of their
families and themselves.
The day also includes horse rides for children, a performance based upon the speeches of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass, museum gallery tours, food, a Civil War dress up booth and much more! Don't miss this once in a lifetime event!
