Trenton African American Pride Festival

Trenton African American Pride Festival

This is event is truly special, occurring the year we are commemorating the 150 anniversary of the start of the American Civil War. The war that ended slavery for 4 million Africans in America, and led to citizenship. When, we became African-American!
Come hear our re-enactors tell the story of True Freedom Fighters - the United States Colored Troops. Experience and take pride in this national and ethnic heritage.
The 6th USCT will have an exhibit at this event, including a tent, a display of Civil War era weapons and items used by soldiers in daily life. There will also be books about black soldiers and to look up names of family members who may have served in the War. Reactors will demonstrate the use of period fire arms, and answer questions about the contributions of African-Americans in the Civil War.
